That's not the part I was looking for, Wilson...and that's not the part
that was different

I think it's in the edit part of folder options>file types....if I
remember correctly from my troubleshooting days, it's that % that's
missing and therefore causes Windows to be unable to open these excel
files....but I don't have that in Windows XP so I can't check mine

Peoria.....if my memory serves me right.....it's something to do with
spaces in names....so, try removing all the spaces in the names of the
files and folders in the path to that file and see if it opens
then....if it does, then the problem is in the Files Types place I told
you to look before

Hi Linda,
that's the same key on my Excel 2K under Win98SE. AFAIK, "Excel.Sheet.8"

means she's running Excel 8 (Office 2000).
The problem must be somewhere else.
