[mso] Re: Word2003: Autocorrect Is Intermittent

HI Dave S, Ken, and pruscoe,

Thanks for your replies.

Here is an instance where autocorrect didn't recognize the ordinal number: "
We get a nice chance to see this starting on the 7th when the crescent Moon is
about one degree to the lower left of Mars".

Here is an instance where two consecutive hyphens didn't get converted into a
dash: "Dave Kuchinsky 1915 -- 2008: A Remembrance".

Both instances are in a 22-page Word document, I'm using Word 2003
(11.8169.8172) with Service Pack 3 on a WinXP Pro platform. In this same
document, other ordinals such as "50th" and "21st" are rendered correctly. I
have only one instance of the double hyphen.

In a blank test document, I just typed "21st 50th 3rd -- ". The three ordinals
worked correctly, but the double hyphen did not convert. I don't understand
why auto correct is intermittent.
