Thanks Linda. From "no way to fix it" there are now three ways. Selecting
the cell with the diagonal arrow is a better idea than going the "Select
All" option (in this case). I just never thought this will include effects
on bullets as you cannot select bullets by dragging the mouse over them.

ok..I have been playing with this for a while and I can't figure out how
this happened...but I just clicked to the left of the bulleted list (when I
saw the little black arrow pointed diagonally to the right) and this
selected the whole list...then I went to the Format menu and chose Borders &
Shading and selecting "Text" from the dropdown list on the lower right that
says "Apply To" and then clicked on the button that says "None" and the
boxes went away...but I have no idea how or why they were there in the first
place
I sent you the file privately so you could see how I fixed it...but I sure
don't know how it got that way LOL
