Hi,
I shall try to put my problem as briefly as possible! For a long time my boss
has used 3 documents, created in Word 97, as a form (locked through the Forms
toolbar) and used the Send To > Mail Recipient shortcut to email quotes to
customers. He has now got Office 2000 on a new laptop and I have put a copy of
the documents there for him to use. Trouble is, when he emails them the format
is changed completely on receipt. This resut is the same regardless of whether
they are emailed to a PC using Word 97 or Word 2000.
When I loaded the documents I do not recall seeing a dialogue box suggesting I
let Word reformat them to Word 2000.
One of the documents arrives at an Outlook Express In Box with 2 attached
files, image001.wmz (38.1KB) and oledata.mso (48.6KB), whereas the other 2
documents have 3 attached files - 2 x image00x.jpg files and a header.htm file.
(All 3 documents have a couple of logos in them, rather than links to a logo
file stored elsewhere on the computer)
If I have given you enough information, can you please tell me if there is an
easy way to use the forms as they were originally created in Word 97, or do I
have to start over and make a new file in Word 2000? If so, I might just ask
if I can reinstall Word 97 and ask him to use that instead. Would there be a
problem reverting to 97?
I hope you are able to offer some suggestions, Thanks,
Roger Bideleux
