[mso] Re: Word 2007 Settings

I haven't touched any of the defaults since I installed it back in October,
just that one day it started acting funny out of the blue. I'd hit Tab, for
example, to indent 5 spaces at the start of a paragraph and it would - but
then one day I was typing a sentence, and when the text wrapped to the next
line, it was also indented. It looked something like this:

"This sentence is to demonstrate the problem I'm having with Microsoft Word.
I do (we'll let it wrap here)"

becomes

"This sentence is to demonstrate the problem I'm having with Microsoft Word.
I
do (we'll let it wrap here)"

And that's not right. If anything, if it were the first sentence of a
paragraph, it should look like this:

"This sentence is to demonstrate the problem I'm having with
Microsoft
Word. I do (we'll let it wrap here)"

(I added quotes to separate the example text from the text of my e-mail)

I'm not sure how default styles or anything could have been changed - I
don't touch settings that I don't know what they do. I do know that at times
the auto bulleting is turned off when it shouldn't be. I hope that helps
some - if not, let me know and I'll try to type up a sample paper to use as
another example.

Uninstalling/reinstalling will most often do little to solve a problem
because it rarely has to do with the system and is often another issue.

Are you saying that you've reset the defaults? Are you using styles? Do you
have a custom template? We need to understand more about what the problem is
to help fix it. It sounds like maybe the defaults styles have been changed,
so you'll either have to change them back or create better ones for your
papers.

You can check the styles/formatting by clicking in the problem para and
hitting Shift/F1 to investigate what setting are there.

But if you can tell us more about the steps you are taking/have taken...we
can try to give you a more solid fix.
