Uninstalling/reinstalling will most often do little to solve a problem
because it rarely has to do with the system and is often another issue.
Are you saying that you've reset the defaults? Are you using styles? Do you
have a custom template? We need to understand more about what the problem is
to help fix it. It sounds like maybe the defaults styles have been changed,
so you'll either have to change them back or create better ones for your
papers.
You can check the styles/formatting by clicking in the problem para and
hitting Shift/F1 to investigate what setting are there.
But if you can tell us more about the steps you are taking/have taken...we
can try to give you a more solid fix.

Subject: [mso] Word 2007 Settings
Is there a way to reset the settings in Word 2007? It keeps changing such
that when I try to write papers for school, it indents the second line
instead of the first, and other behaviors of the past that were normal seem
abnormal. I could uninstall it and reinstall, but I'd rather not if I don't
need to.
