Hi Guys,
I thought I'd update the folks on the list on my problem, which has been
corrected, in case anyone else has the problem and would like to know at least
one thing to try to correct it.
It seems that my local printer somehow was involved (printer driver got
corrupted???). I deleted the printer, rebooted, reinstalled the printer, made
it
the default and restarted Word. The annoying blinking cursor pointer is no
more.
It seems that the blinking was caused by a looping repagination in Word.
While I don't understand the relationship between repagination and the printer
driver (because I hadn't tried to print), I'm happy that the problem has been
resolved.

text, outside of the margins or in the menu area. It cycles about once a
second.
