A friend of mine called the other day and told me he "broke" Word. After
some questions, he told me he had a document that required borders. Word
asked him if he wanted to install it. He said Yes and proceeded to use his
Office XP CD instead of Office 2003 CD. Now each time he loads Outlook or
Word, he gets an error message that says, MS Office Word 11.0 "an error has
occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Pls run setup
and select repair ." to restore this application." I uninstalled the
version of Word XP he installed and tried to reinstall Word 2003 but I get a
message that says "Install failed" he has a number of outlook addresses and
rules. If we uninstall Office and reinstall it, will he lose all his
Outlook settings? I remember something in this group about an "eraser" for
Office. Do you still need to use that on Office 2003? I'm struggling with
this for him. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
