Georges, The University of Liverpool has produced a guide to large Word 2000 documents which you may find useful: http://www.liv.ac.uk/CSD/helpdesk/faqs/word/large_docs.html It is my experience that Master Documents are best avoided. Instead, I'd use a separate document for each chapter, with a separate 'Contents' document which contains hyperlinks to each individual chapter. If you are worried about page numbering, you can use field code switches to start numbering from any point in each individual document so that - for instance - chapter 6 page numbering starts at 68. Hope this helps (whilst not actually answering the question, because I don't know the answer!). I intend to create a document of about 500 Mb (with many pictures). Is it possible and will I be able to print it? Thank you in advance for your answer.
