[mso] Re: Word 11X17 Brochure Page Layout Question

If you have Office 2000, this means you have Publisher on the second CD. I
would highly recommend you use Publisher for this becuz it works much better
with brochures, etc. (that is what Publisher is made for...it's a desktop
pubishing application, whereas Word is simply a word processor)

However, if you must use Word, you will have to go into Page setup and set
up your paper size and margins, etc, manually...and you have to add Next
Page Section breaks before and after the parts that you want on a different
paper size...but I think you are going to run into more headaches than you
need and Publisher would be a better choice.

Kinda like being a carpenter...if you use the right tool for the job, it's
much easier.

Subject: [mso] Word 11X17 Brochure Page Layout Question

Hello All,

I have a brochure document that was originally laid out for 8-1/2 X
11. We recently bought a printer with 11"X17" capabilities and I am
trying to convert the document to that paper size. It is a 6 sided
brochure (including front and back covers). Due to the number of
pages, what I picture this to be is one (1) double sided 11X17 sheet
(4 sides) and 1 double sided 8-1/2X11 sheet (2 more sides). Has
anyone had any experience with this type of document layout? Is there
special way to format the text (for pagination reasons) or special
page set up? How do I separate the two middle pages that will print
on 8-1/2X 11? I have spent hours on this so far and I keep digging
holes for myself.

I am using Word 2000.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Chuck
