[mso] White Diamonds in Print Layout

I have a Word document in which a large white horizontal diamond on a black
background fills the entire screen, blocking all of my text and charts.
This only happens when I'm in the print layout view; when I go back to
normal view everything looks fine. (To illustrate what this looks like,
imagine taking a black sheet of paper with a large white diamond in the
middle and placing it over your monitor.)

Has anyone seen this and do you know how I fix it? There doesn't seem to be
anything else wrong with the document.
