[mso] Re: What causes Run-time Errors?

Also...along with Dian's instructions to try the /a switch and check
your macros (runtime errors are usually caused by macros, in my
experience)....but the other thing I would check is your Word Startup
folder....search your hard drive for startup...you will find it...see
what's in there and try moving everything out of there and then put them
back one at a time until you find the culprit (same with the
macros....take em all out and put em back one at a time)...eventually
you *should* figure out what's up hopefully

Good luck

Well...there very well could be some old code that now longer works.
Especially if you recently upgraded to a new version of Word and are
using
dots from the old version. If the person who wrote the code used
anything
that could have changed, it'll no longer work.

You could go to Tools/Macro/Macro and see what you have in there. But if
you
don't know EXACTLY what SHOULD/SHOULD NOT be in there for the company
and/or
know how to write code, it might be like my daughter looking under the
hood
of her car...Yup, that's an engine alright!<g>

Yikes!!! I just realized I'm an idiot and didn't give you the most
important
line! I just told you to run winword.exe and hit enter right!<sigh> (The
next teenager who interrupts me while I'm replying get
grounded<g>)...you
need to add the /a switch to stop the addins. Just checked your earlier
post
and realized I forgot the most important part!<sigh>

HERE is what you need to type!

In the Start/Run dialog type: winword.exe /a THEN hit enter!

The /a switch stops all addins from running. So you were only typing the
main code. You HAVE TO add that switch. Sorry...I'm in the middle of a
project and not thinking about some things clearly...I've got the 90
mile
code stare!<g>
