Well...you'd need some type of device that DOES that and I don't know of
one.

To put voice to text in Word, you need to speak into the mic. So...other
than playing the voice on one system and putting a mic up next to the
speaker so that Word picks up the output from one PC as input to another...I
don't know how to do it...other than having someone read it manually into
the mic. And the PCxPC idea probably wouldn't work well cos' you have to
train the voice engine by reading into it. So you'd have to read the
training text into it and play it back to get it trained. In the time you
did all that messing around...you probably could have just had someone read
the thing into Word itself!

See...as far as I've seen in standard practice, you can't have a PC play and
record something at the same time. I actually HAVE pulled off this
trick...but have had to do it as I said...by taking off my headphones and
playing the mic close to the speakers. But that was with a couple other
programs and not Word...haven't tried that one. I'm lucky Word understand
ME...I'm sure it would mess up pretty badly trying to understand the words
to type from a recording????

But as I said, there MAY be some software out there that would be able to
understand the audio to turn it into written words...like TTY technology.

Dian Why could one not take the audio from the MP3 and put it in another
computer and it would be put to text? I guess I am missing something?

Well...here's an article I wrote on it...I LOVE it...great for proof
reading, too!!

But I'm sure it can't be done in reverse with this. Good luck!

I am sorry if some thought this off subject but it is Office and Office does
a pretty good job of recognizing speech.

Dian can you share with me the software that does text to a MP3 maybe I can
ask around them some where and see if it could be done the other way.

I also have had very good luck with speech to text through a microphone (a
good
Mike) But it would really make things much simpler if I could do just Voice
from a file to text!

Thanks All

Gene

The only built-in freebee way would be to setup the Voice recording device
in Word...then read it into a document for her.

I have an inexpensive piece of software that will take any document, read it
and save it to an MP3 file...there might be a similar device out there that
does the reverse?
