I am assuming, since the printer installation called for this CD, the CD it
is referring to is a CD that came with the printer, and not the Windows CD.
(the printer probably has software drivers for it and it's requesting the
Windows DRIVERS which are on it's second CD) Word is not requesting the
CD....it's the printer that is requesting the CD. (of course, it requests it
when you try to print from Word...I'm sure it would request it no matter
what program was trying to print to it.)
And yes, Robert, this IS very off topic. Please take it to a different
group.

Subject: [mso] VERY OFF TOPIC: SP 4 requested by Word?!?
Today, I installed a label printer, and part of the installation process
asked me to install the second XP CD that contains SP4. (Yes, it asked me
for SP4!) Is it even available?
Then, I opened Word to print to the label printer. It also asked me to
insert the XP CD#2 with SP4. Since this part is from Word apparently, I am
hoping someone can shed some light on this.
Thanks.
Robert
