[mso] Re: Using Office 2003 with Vista

Hi Errol ... mostly what I don't like is the way the features are all
grouped together so you can't really access them individually without a
whole bunch of hassle ... stuff like autocorrect and autotext are so much
more complicated now ... I just think the building blocks and galleries are
more work, unless you use all the pre-packaged defaults, which I personally
don't like, so I spend hours trying to figure out how to construct ones I do
like. Maybe, eventually, I'll like that stuff, but in my current state of
mind, where I don't have a lot of time to play with that stuff, I find
myself sticking with 2003, which is still my favorite version.

And, I HATE the fact that I'm forced to use Word in Outlook ... I really
don't want all this hoopla in my dang email ... I just want simple email,
but that's next to impossible.

Mostly I've been using Word and Excel 2007 becuz I'm trying to update my
ebooks and online classes ... next I'll tackle PowerPoint, Access, and
Publisher, I guess ... who knows ... maybe I'm just getting old and
resistant to change LOL I remember when Office 2003 and Windows XP both
came out and I loved both of them immediately ... but that is not the case
this time, so maybe it is just my age and present state of mind.

Hi Linda
As this is a MSO forum I'd like to hear your opinions on Office 2007.
While I agree with the opinions expressed by you and Trace about Vista,
I find 2007 a "step up" in user friendliness. There are things I don't
like about 2007 - mainly trying to find things to do that I knew in
older office setups and couldn't easliy find in 2007 - but that is a
thing I guess I'll learn. I don't use Outlook much (it certainly isn't
my default mailer) but Word and Excel 2007 suits me.
Errol
