[mso] Re: Using Office 2003 with Vista

Errol, I must agree with you on Office 2007. As somebody who uses Office to
get basic things done, like letters and quotes which aren't covered by my
bookkeeping software I find Office 2007 lovely. Once I had found everything
again, that is! Initially I found the ribbon confusing BUT once I got used
to it, it really did make my life easier.

I use Outlook for my email and calendar. It synchronises with my mobile
phone (Nokie E61i) better than 2003 did and I find it easier to work in as
well.

Since I sell Office, I have found it easier to give a crash course after
installing 2007 than the earlier versions. It seems that the ribbon system
is easier for new users to grasp than the old menu-based system. I do find
that existing users don't initially enjoy it but, like me, they settle down
and enjoy the new easier-to-use features. Formatting a document is now a
pleasure. I love that I can select a block of text and just by pointing to a
different font see what it will look like without the hassle of actually
making the change until I'm happy I've found just the right font! It's the
little things which keep me happy :)

I'm sure there are many power users who can give you a far better insight
into Office 2007 but I thought I'd put my 2c worth in anyway :)

Hi Linda
As this is a MSO forum I'd like to hear your opinions on Office 2007.
While I agree with the opinions expressed by you and Trace about Vista,
I find 2007 a "step up" in user friendliness. There are things I don't
like about 2007 - mainly trying to find things to do that I knew in
older office setups and couldn't easliy find in 2007 - but that is a
thing I guess I'll learn. I don't use Outlook much (it certainly isn't
my default mailer) but Word and Excel 2007 suits me.
