[mso] Troubleshooter needed please

I just +cannot+ see my error, and I check all the suggestions in MS's help
file.
Cell AA100 contains 1938-02-30
Cell AB100 contains 1948-10-24
In cell AC100, I have the formula:
=DATEDIF(AA100,AB100,"y")
Shouldn't that give me "10" (ten) ?
It is giving me the #VALUE error.
All the other dates seem to work and I really am at a loss what to check or
do to correct it. Datedif doesn't seem to have much coverage in MS's help
files.
Thank you.
Robert
