And ALSO.... Search your hard drive for a folder named Startup and a folder named XLStart..these are the folders that would hold anything that is starting with Word and Excel...if there's anything in either of them, move it all out of there and see if that fixes the problem...if it does, then you can move stuff back in there one at a time til you find the culprit Ok..that's about all I can think of now...ought to keep you busy for a while :-) Linda Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com FREE MS Office eBook Tutorial http://personal-computer-tutor.com/library.htm -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Linda F. She said: If on a 9x OS system...kick your graphics accelerator down two clicks. If on NT+ systems, it's the application boost, kick it down one. You'll find it under the control panel/system/performance...(graphics button if 9x)... Winn 2000 would fall into the NT+ category If that doesn't fix it, let's look at some other stuff...like do you have any addins in Office? Templates? Macros? Try disabling all of them and see if that fixes it. Since you say it only happens when you try to close the program, I'm thinking that SOMETHING is still running that isn't wanting to shutdown, so that makes me think it's an addin or a macro. (You can find these in your Tools menu) The only other thing I can think of would be to try reinstalling Office right over top of itself. Get your Office CD and pop it in and choose to reinstall Office. Hopefully that will fix it....if not, you may have to uninstall Office, run the Office 2k eraser utilities, then reinstall Office (but this should be your LAST resort, so try Dian's suggestion and my others first) Good luck..let us know how it goes.
