Particularly if this is an upgrade, it could be that your video driver
can't handle the newer version. Try this...
First...make sure your TEMP directory is empty. Locked files from
previous crashes can stall it even more.
If on a 9x OS system...kick your graphics accelerator down two clicks.
If on NT+ systems, it's the application boost, kick it down one. You'll
find it under the control panel/system/performance...(graphics button if
9x)...

Hello. I am new to this group and I'm hoping someone
here can help me.
I have MS Office 2000 Pro version SR-1a on my
computer. From the time it was installed I have been
unable to close Word or Excel without the program
freezing and giving me a message like this:
"WINWORD.exe has generated errors and will be closed
by Windows. You will need to restart the program."
I checked the Micosoft website which tells me that the
fix for this problem was included with version SR-1a
and suggests I download the update. Since this is the
version I already have, the advice does me no good.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can fix this
problem? I am getting really tired of waiting for
stalled programs to close.
Thanks in advance for any help you could offer. It
will be greatly appreciated.
