[mso] Text formatting in Outlook 2007

OK . I've been looking all over for this and decided to ask you guys ..
 
My default email format is HTML, which is what I usually want, but sometimes
I want a certain message to be plain text .. Like messages I send to this
group . in previous versions of Outlook, I'd just go to the Format menu
inside a new email and change to plain text . but, obviously 2007 doesn't
have a Format menu and I can't find any button on the ribbon that lets me do
this.  I do see the "Clear formatting" button, but that requires that I
select the text in the message first, and even when I do that, the header of
the message still says "HTML" . is it no longer possible to change a message
to plain text or am I missing something here?
