Thanks for that info. I'm running Outlook 11...so I have to be careful
what I talk about and not sure of all that was in XP versus now in 11.
Other apps I can compare, but with only one version of Outlook...pls
excuse "vague" answers! <wink>

If you've got Outlook open and you have the Advanced toolbar up, then
there's a dropdown box with prebuilt filters in it. One of the
selections is "Active tasks". It will only show tasks that are not
complete.

There's no real way to delete completed tasks without using VBA. But you
can set up a custom view. Set one that shows items that are 100%
completed and then view those and delete them. Or you can set up a view,
I believe, that only shows items that are NOT 100% completed.

I use the task list in Outlook XP all the time and find it really
useful. The one thing that can be annoying is that after I've completed
a task and checked it off, it stays in the list with a scratch-out line
through it. This makes my list endlessly long and full of stuff I don't
need anymore. I seem to remember a setting somewhere that allows
completed tasks to disappear. Am I imagining things or does this
setting really exist, and if so where is it? Also can you decide how
long you want to have completed tasks stay in the list before they
disappear?
Thanks!
