[mso] Summary report for every individual task captured on a daily basis..then compared the monthly stats for very task for every individual

Dear all,
I am maintaining a file which captures the schedule of work done on daily basis 
under various categories. I have a problem

I. How to consolidate data for all files, compare stats for every individual, 
see the increase / decrease in efficieny activity wise month on month etc etc 

i.) Since there is a new sheet every day for every shift, is there any way a 
formula 

- looks into all the individual files under a particular folder rather than 
linking every file manually in an independent worksheet / file (20 days*2files 
per day = 40 files).

- which  then sync the data against head available for that individual (every 
individual has a unique name but the order of list may not be same (e.g) L may 
appear before A.

ii.) Now I maintain a folder for every month lets say jan as 1.Jan, 
2.Feb....12.Dec. 

How can then that formula look into all independent activities and tell that on 
an average Jan for x = 0000 units Feb for x = 00000 units  to see and compare 
in efficiency achieved and hit.

There are about 10 heads where I would like to benchmark the efficieny / 
shortfalls against the expected to the achieved figures.

All help would be highly appreciated.
