According to a Mac OS X user I know, she said she has also seen things
like that but doesn't know where they come from, and instead uses the Mac
OS X Mail program (called "Mail") which comes preinstalled with the OS X
system. If you have not already checked them out, you may also want to
try the Mac support site http://www.entourage.mvps.org/.

Hello, I wonder if you can help. I am using MS Office X on a Mac.
When I start a new email message in Entourage and enter, say, Shift-V in
the
To section to bring up a list of potential recipients starting with V I can
see a number of addresses that I have not added to my address book (for
example Quentin <VVIIURD@xxxxxx>, not exactly a serious address). I have
checked my address book (the one in Entourage and also the Mac OS address
book appliction) and these names and addresses are not visible for editing
or deletion. Where are they stored and how can I get rid of them? Are these
aliases which only appear in the drop down list of addresses in the new
mail
window? The Help files don't offer me any useful clues. I'm assuming they
have been placed on my machine by one or more viruses or emails carrying
dodgy attachments. Although most viruses don't directly affect the machine
I
don't want to be a carrier of baggage that could be spread to my Windows
using contacts.
Thanks for any advice.
Cheers
Pete
