Robert,
If your data is consistent, you can simply export to a text file and =
reimport it into a new table to get your data.

Well, if it were less than 65,536 records deep, I would. I have 551,442
records to check. I -was- thinking about exporting to a text file, and =
just
write a C program to do it, but now I think I will break it up into nine
files and export to nine worksheets.
Thanks, Linda.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Access has the text-to-columns =
feature
like Excel. But, since Access tables export so easily into Excel, why =
not
just export the table into Excel, then use the text-to-column thing =
there,
then import the table back into Access?
That's what I would do and probably have the problem solved before an =
Access
expert even reads this email ;-)

In Excel, there is a text to columns options that allows the user to =
split
information in one cell across several cells. That is, if A1 contains:
United States, Florida, Dade County, Miami
You can break that up so that cells
A1 contains United States
B1 contains Florida
C1 contains Dade County
D1 contains Miami
Is there a way to accomplish something like this in Access?
Thank you.
Robert
