I don't think I was clear. I can spell check what I put in before I protect
and that's not a problem. Users are adding things to the unprotected cells
in the worksheet and I would like for them to be able to spellcheck what
they add, but they are not able to if the worksheet is protected - even in
the cells where they have added information. I would just like for the
spellcheck to allow them to check the unprotected cells.

Maybe you could spell check it before you protect? IMHO you can't protect
something and still allow people to check anything. How can you allow people
to change spelling but not facts or formulas?
