It depends how hidden you want them.  You could

Make the color (of the font) white
Make the column very narrow
Use vba to write a routine that unhides the column, sorts, and then hides it
again
Keep those dates in a separate spreadsheet linked by an id column and use a
vlookup when you want to see them
