I completely agree with Wilson.  Merge cells now and be prepared for
problems when you want to do other stuff later (copy/pasting and  sorting,
to name a few).  Merging is not a good idea; Centering across a selection
basically looks the same but doesn't cause the problems

Hi Terry,
I would advise you to *never, never*  use merged cells in Excel.
It's better to use the Format-->Cells-->Alignment-->"Center across
selection" option instead.
Merged cells tend to cause problems whenever you have to copy a selection
containing them to another place.
