[mso] Re: ShareOutlook and Hotmail Accounts

I don't think anyone responded to this so I will. I don't check the
posts very often so I'm always a bit leery to reply.

I had a similar problem (if not exactly the same). The problem is
that Hotmail can NOT be accessed using Outlook (or any pc mail
client). It is intentionally set up to be a web based service.
However, note that this has just recently changed. I set my wife's
Hotmail account up on Outlook express about a year ago. I recently
tried to set up my hotmail on my outlook and got an error message
stating that this is not allowed for as a free service. If you
subscribe, you can get remote access. I think that my wife's account
still works because it was grandfathered. Yahoo used to be the same
way but they changed their access about a year ago. Again, you can
get it but it will cost you.

I hope that this helps.

Subject: [mso] ShareOutlook and Hotmail Accounts

I am trying to setup two people who use hotmail so they can share
Outlook 2K (Small Business) contacts, tasks, calendar, etc. using
SharedOutlook by 4Team.
So far I've worked on it all day with Christmas shoppers going by my
window. Is this a Holy Grail?
Can anyone tell me a way for a married couple to best share without
Exchange. There are two computers in their office and one laptop at
home. I am all ears and so glad you are here...

Kathleen
