[mso] Re: S L O W Outlook 2007

We had a situation recently in which an admin would type in a new email
in Outlook 2003 and would have to wait 5 or 10 seconds for the text to
appear in the body of the email. I discovered that it was the restricted
sites list in IE7 that was causing the problem. Spybot Search and
Destroy Immunization kept adding to the list and it became huge. As soon
as I cleared the restricted sites list Outlook worked fine.

I don't know if it is the same situation, but it is worth a try.

Kathy ... Actually, I never suggested he "remove" it ... I said that *I*
uninstalled it and he asked if he should just delete it, so I told him
no, to uninstall it instead (uninstall as opposed to deleting) ... but
that
doesn't mean I'm saying that will fix his problem. But, in the case of
my
computer, disabling the desktop search did not stop it from using CPU
power ... the only way I could shut the dang thing off was by
uninstalling it ...
but that was on MY computer and not necessarily the case with others.
And, I never had the slow mouse stuff that Colin is having .... I just
felt Outlook 2007 was sluggish, but not crippled like Colin is saying.

Ok - That should be enough RAM, but you should know that your memory is
shared between your CPU and your video card. That shouldn't affect =3D
things, but it might.

(And as to your other question: Yes, Windows Desktop Search 3.01 is what
Linda is suggesting your remove. I am not so sure that it is the =3D
problem.
You might want to try to disable it instead of removing it first.)
