It's possible the user has a second rule for this email address and that is
conflicting with this rule...in that case, it sometimes puts a copy in the
inbox or somewhere else. Also in the rule, you can put a check where it
says "stop processing rules for this email" in the section where it asks
what you want to do with the mail, then it will only do what is specified in
that rule, as long as that rule is first in the list, above any other rules
that may apply to that email address

Subject: [mso] Rules problem in outlook
A user in my office has a rule setup to check for messages from a specific
user in the office and move them to a separate folder when they come in.
The rule works fine, the messages do go into the folder we specified, but
for some reason there's a copy of the message still in the inbox, so she
ends up with duplicates of every email from this person. I checked the
rule, even deleted it and created a brand new one, and it's still doing it.
I made sure it was on "move the message" instead of copy the message. Any
help would be appreciated. We're using Outlook 2002 with all current
updates on exchange 5.5 with sp4. Thanks.
