Perhaps you should also update to SP2 the latest service pack? Don't think
it would help but it can't hurt (or can it?).
Lots of ideas.

No-one got a suggestion? Guess not, thanks for considering anyway! Happy
Christmas everyone! Roger Subject: [mso] Problem auto-updating links in
WordFrom: "Roger" <rogerbid@xxxxxxxxx>Date: Thu, 15 Dec 2005
19:02:40 -0500 (EST)Hi everyone, I have a Word document containing numerous
links ({INCLUDETEXT....}) to other Word documents, and I want the links to
update automatically each time this document is opened. When I go to the
Edit menu and select Links, the area of the dialogue headed "Update method
for selected link" has only the one item 'Locked' in dark print. I want to
tick 'Automatic update' but it will not let me. ( I am using Word 2003
SP1)Can anyone help and suggest what I have done to disable this
option? Thanks very much and best wishes to all for Christmas, Roger
