Hi!
I have an odd question for the experts. I use Microsoft Word 2000 at work.
The operating system is Windows XP and the computer is a Compaq. Norton
Systematic is the company preferred Anti-Virus scanner and is installed on
all computers. Ok ... the question ..
I created a document in Word and saved it to my harddrive. Later, I
forwarded the same document to someone via Microsoft Outlook. When that
person opened the same document, spell check tried to correct everything in
French. When I open the same document, spell check corrects it in English.
The person I forwarded the document to sits one office over from me and has
their Windows set to English (U.S.) and their Word set to English (U.S.) and
so do I.
One week later, I created a document in Microsoft Word worked on it and
closed out of it. The next day, I opened up the same document and spell
check tried to correct everything with French. I went to Spell Checker and
chose English as my language preference. I tried to click "close" and the
Spell Checker switched it back to French before I could close out. I
changed it again to English (U.S.) and when I hit close it stayed in
English. I finished making my changes to the document and closed it out.
The next morning, I opened the document and again Spell Checker tried to
correct everything in French. I, again, went to Tools/Spell Checker and
changed it from French to English (U.S.). Finished making my changes and
closed out.
For the past 4 days I have not had the French thing come up again on any
documents I have created or modified.
Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this flukish pattern?
Both computers are on the same network, are set for English (U.S.) language
via control panel, languages and in Microsoft Word. Both computers are only
one office apart.
Will be interesting to read your thoughts.
