In my previous job I had started working with Quark and was going to school for it and similar programs. I've also seen most "professional" job ads requiring Quark. I was just wondering what you've heard about or thoughts on Adobe's newest addition "In Design" relative to the job market or folks who do DTP from home workshop. Generally I use Publisher cuz I don't really do Advanced desktop publishing stuff so I don't need all the bells and whistles offered by Quark and PageMaker...but when I do decide to play around with desktop publishing, I definitely see Quark as being the one that produces the most professional looking stuff....and I know, when I talk to any of the people who do this kind of stuff for Magazines, etc., that they LAUGH at Publisher and they find PageMaker to be shortcoming..they all use Quark...and I also see, in the employment ads, all the design layout type companies request experience with Quark...some also mention PageMaker...but I've NEVER seen one require Publisher knowledge...basically they see Publisher as a joke. Kinda the same way some *serious* web designers look at FrontPage LOL Linda F. Their hesitance to move forward with a native product for OSX made a number of companies start moving over entirly to Adobe offerings. So It's almost as if the MS product is suffering an even worse bout of arrogance in its dev goals. What a shame!
