[mso] Re: ? Public Ivy Colleges/Universities

Interesting - I never heard of Public Ivy League

This is from the W&M site:

William and Mary is one of only eight U.S. institutions of higher education
designated a "Public Ivy." A Public Ivy is a state-assisted institution
which offers a superior education at a cost far below that of Ivy League
schools.

Let me know if you find the whole list (the other seven).

Subject: [mso] ? Public Ivy Colleges/Universities

Does anyone know if there's a published list of those colleges or
universities that are considered to be a Public Ivy? A Google search
returns a few names (William & Mary, Univ. of Pittsburgh, SUNY of
Binghamton). Also, how would such a determination be made..that is, to be
called a Public Ivy?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Diane
