You didn't mention what O/S she is using, this is classic 'drivers corrupted
or wrong drivers. So if its Win95 or later, go to printer folder and delete
the printer; find the drivers from HP website; d/l them and follow their
instructions, usually its reboot system let windows look for driver or point
windows to the files created from the HP downloaded and you're good to go!

I have a colleague who uses Word and a little HP printer.

Sometimes, when she is printing a Word document the printer starts
printing garbage, a few characters to a page and a page eject.

Attempts to get it to stop, turning it off and on, etc., are fruitless.

The only thing that she has been able to do is to load a ream of paper
and let it print till it is done.

She wrote me to ask my help. I'm looking for someone else who might
understand what she is talking about and be able to tell me so I can
tell her.
