[mso] Re: Powerpoint: Changing the default view

In the Open dialog box rest your mouse on a button in the toolbar toward
the right.  The screen tip "Views" should appear.  Click on the
down-arrow and change the view to Details.

I think that works for all or most versions of PowerPoint.
