In addition to Linda's reply, you can use File--> Send to--> Word and send
notes next to slides. This will save you some paper. As a bonus, it will
allow you to create an editable Word document where you can add more
information to your notes.
Another really nice thing about using Notes next to slides in Word is that
it creates a three column table: slide number, slide picture, notes.

In PowerPoint, I have added notes to remind me what to discuss when that
particular slide is on display. Can these be printed WITH the slide number
on them AND ALSO a miniaturized picture of the slide itself that it refers
to? If so, that would greatly add sorting should I drop them.
