[mso] Re: PowerPoint

Thanks all that tried to help.

What I eneded up doing is going back to old (but reliable) methods. I
put the image I wanted to use in Image Composer 1.5, added the
transparent word "SAMPLE", grouped, flattened & saved as .jpg then
placed that image in PowerPoint. OT, I LOVE Image Composer. It's not
sophisticated but for the simple graphic manipulation is quite useful.
Actually, I won 2nd and 4th places in a logo contest with IC which got
me a $100 and parking spot for a year.

Glenda,
What version of PPT are you using? Transparent gifs only work in PPT
2000 and later. If you are using one of those versions and it still
isn't working, try saving the image as a transparent PNG instead of a
gif - PPT tends to like them better.

In a PowerPoint slide I am attempting to put a transparent GIF of the
word SAMPLE so one can still see the background text behind the image
but it doesn't seem to work. The image ends up hiding the background
text and appears solid rather than transparent. It seems like a simple
thing but I gotta get this for a presentation tomorrow afternoon. Any
suggestions appreciated. /g
