Hi Frank, I came late to this post but I think I understand what you want to do with Page Numbers. How about turning page one into a separate section of the document, so page 1 will be section 1 and the rest of the document will be section 2. Now add your page numbers, apply it only to section 2 and tell Word to start with the page numbering with the number 2. Hope this help.
