Thanks from me to both Diane and Anne for their first input, but my problems
with Tracking that started only a few months ago, all happen on our intranet
at work where we all use Outlook, albeit different versions.
My research of recipients shows that the randomness does not reflect whether
they reject (with the appropriate setting or manually each time) or whether
or not the e-mail is opened (short messages can be read in the Preview Pane
and then deleted, resultinmg in a Not Read receipt being returned.)

In my experience it's frequently down to the settings at the destination end
- ie the recipients of your emails will all have different ISPs, many of
whom have different permissions in relation to tracking and delivery
messages. And that's without any of the recipients choosing not to allow
read receipts to be sent!
It IS a nightmare, so much so that unless I desperately have to know a
message has been delivered and read I don't now use tracking at all.
Not much help Debbie, other than to know that it may not be your end that's
causing the problem.

Hi Dian,
I guess I did not explain that very well. Most if not all emails I have
sent out (business wise, I do not use this for personal emails) have been
responded as being received and read, but usually on the top of my sent
email there will be two tabs, one says "Message" and the other "Tracking".
Inside of the Tracking tab will be the Recipient's name and also the time
the email was read.
So now I have a lot of emails that have been sent out and they have been
read and responded to but the original email on my email does not have the
tracking tab.
A thought has occurred to me that I move my original email messages out of
the "sent" folder to a special folder, but still within Outlook, for my
records. Could moving the message cause my problem?
Thanks, Debbie
