[mso] Outlook label printout question

The help instructions tell me I have to have the contacts folder showing (which
I do, however it is a contacts folder I have permission to see and change, its
not my personal contact folder) and to open Word (however ridiculous that is,
that they don't already have a label format to print directly from Outlook),
and print the label using the Tools/Env & Labels, and then selecting the
Outlook address book.
Can I set up a label format directly in Outlook, or is there another way around
having to use Word because it won't let me select from a "permissioned" contact
folder.
