I have a client using Outlook XP. Everyone at the organization has
access to a public folder containing contacts. As the list of people
has grown, she has created distribution lists separated alphabetically -
A-F, G-M, etc. She has had to create a second A-F list because there
were too many items in the first one, and all of the lists work properly
- she uses them to address mass emails and they go out, no problem.
The issue she is having is she wants to delete a few email addresses
from the older A-F list (the one that has more names on it than the
newer A-F list). When she tries to open the list so she can edit it,
she sees the following message: "Can't open this item. Out of memory or
system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again."
She has closed all the other apps running, restarted Outlook and
restarted her computer, but nothing helps. Is this a known issue with
distribution lists, and is there a way around it so she can remove the
addresses she wants to take out?
I should also note that she did use this A-F list to send an email, and
this problem is not preventing emails from going out - it's simply an
issue of not being able to edit the contents of the list.
Sorry for the long email and thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Elise
