The reason you need OE installed with Outlook is some of the components from
OE are used by Outlook (most notably, OE's news reader)

I don't think the problem is OE...I think it's Outlook. Try a detect and
repair from Outlook's help menu.

Subject: [mso] Outlook Express and the "real" Outlook

Please be patient, this IS an Outlook inquiry! <g>

Lately, in my Outlook XP, I have been getting the following error:

Outlook Express is required to run Outlook. Install Outlook Express from
your IE 5.0 or later CD.

I dutifully insert my Internet Explorer 6.0.1 CD and the problem is
resolved. BUT, it resurfaces a few days later. AV (Norton) has been run,
SpyBot has been run. But I can count on the problem to return. What in
the world does Outlook Express have to do with Outlook XP anyway? Anyone
else run into this?

Is there a Registry Key I need to correct? A new Registry Key? (Man, I
do not enjoy working with the Registry, but if necessary, I can.) I Can
I fix this for once and all?

Thank you.

Robert
