Linda

Thanks for the tip about the NAV users group - have been wanting to find
one of those for a while!

Not as far as I know, no. I've never heard of reinstalling Outlook
causing Word and Excel to have problems. From what I can find on the
internet, vxd
navex(02) is part of Norton Antivirus...which could be part of what your
problem was with Outlook in the first place, if you have Norton set up
to scan your email. I would recommend you check Symantec's website and
see if they have any answers for you. Also, do a complete, uptodate
virus scan and make sure you haven't gotten a virus that has tried to
disable Norton, which many of the new viruses do.

Also, you could try checking out this yahoo group...it's a Norton AV
group and I see lots of discussion going on in there referring to vxd
navex(02): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nortonantivirususersgroup

Sorry I can't help you more. This one doesn't seem to be related to
Office. Good luck!

Linda,

I did as you suggested and it made no difference. However, now I'm
having a problem with WORD and EXCEL. In both cases, they close as soon
as they open. I get the following message: A fatal exception has
occurred ...in VXD NAVEX(02). The current application will be
terminated. Press any key to continue.

Unfortunately, any key just turns the screen black with an "hour glass"
cursor. I can move the cursor but it doesn't respond otherwise.
Alt-Ctl-Del does nothing. I have to use the front panel power switch.

I used both applications yesterday and today they're "broke" and the
only difference is that I tried to reinstall OL98. As far as you know,
is there a link?

Thanks

Chuck
