[mso] Re: Outlook 2k Rules export

The filter text is contained in a file called filters.txt in a default
directory

Mine is in Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office10/1033 (but the 1033 is
a country code)

Apparently you can edit this file, although when I tried, it did not
seem to work. However as the junk mail list itself seems somewhat flaky,
who knows!!

When you export, you get all the rules as you thought (presumably you
could create duplicate pst files, then edit each set of rules to get the
ones you want then export them).

The other Outlook files are kept

Outlook data files (.pst) C:\Windows\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Offline Folders file (.ost) C:\Windows\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Outlook contacts nicknames (.nick) C:\Windows\Application

Subject: [mso] Outlook 2k Rules export

I seem to remember something about a "junk rules" filter that came with
Outlook. Stupid me, I must have deleted this rule. but then as I (very
slowly) got a little smarter, I made my own "Junk Rule". As it turns
out, my rule is working pretty good. Usually, I am not one to "fix
something that ain't broke",,, but..

I have my Email address for about 12 years now, so I get anywhere from
15 to 60 spamies a day. Luckily my ISP (Earthlink) traps 60-70 %, and my
homemade rule traps about 50% of what's actually sent to my box.

So here's the question:

Can I get the "original Junk Rule" back again? Or at least,, how can I
get to see what the words are in the original rule. I "think" when you
export the rules,,, ALL the rules get exported. I don't suppose there's
a way to export just one rule is there?

You cannot simply copy and paste the keywords either, or I would
"simply" ask someone to send me their keywords. What I'm trying to do is
have a look at the original word list and add the ones I'm missing. I'm
sure the person that made the original word list in much smarter than I
am.

What prompted me to post this?
I had to add the word "snoring" to my list this morning. If you haven't
received any "snoring" spams in the last few days... BRACE YOURSELF!

I got 5 or 6 in the last week.

Anyway. I DON'T SNORE. My 2 Jack Russell Terriers snore, so maybe I'll
let THEM have a look at what they're trying to sell me. LOL
