Hi Elise,

Yes tried that it didn't make any difference. 

I was about to check the PST file and downloaded IE7 after installing that
my Outlook is working again now!?? I suspect that perhaps when I restarted
after loading IE7 somehow it must have reset something.

Did you try doing a Detect and Repair, from the Help menu in Outlook?
