Linda,

Ken Slovak's site is showing an updated version of his workaround which
claims compatability with '03. Look here:

Subject: [mso] Outlook 2003 and exe attachments

Earlier today, Vic tried to send me the newest version of his Lock&Hide
program and I didn't receive it....so, he and I were trying to figure
out if
one of our ISPs was blocking this stuff....but now I see it's Outlook
2003

it's not Comcast or Onlink...it's Outlook 2003....I just sent myself an
exe
attachment and opened it in OE..it came thru just fine...but I don't
even
get the email in Outlook....I don't even get a damn notice telling me
it's
been stripped...I don't get the email AT ALL

I did the Level1Remove reg fix and exe is in there...and My Help>About
show
"Security:User controlled"....I even went to Slipstick and got the addin
that's supposed to work with the 2003 beta and it does not.

If Microsoft thinks this is *helpful*, I have to disagree...*helpful*
would
be for them to quarantine the attachment or something so I could scan it
and
make my OWN decision..or at least let me have the email and show me that
the
file has been removed or SOMETHING...but to just completely remove the
email
and never even tell me I got it is NOT acceptable to me.

Has anyone using Outlook 2003 found a workaround for this? If not, I am
going to remove the beta now and go back to Outlook 2002...I have many
companies that send me programs to review...often times they are in exe
format....now, that may not be a good move on their part, but if I don't
even get the damn email, I have no idea this failed cuz I never even
know
they tried. grrrrrrr
