Thanks for this. It is basically a dialup very 30 minute lock. =
Sometimes
with the mail in the outbox, without dailing, the user exits Outlook. =
This
needs to be controlled. The dailup is automatic. This is the basic
problem.. Anyway thanks for spending ur useful time on this. Let me =
try
whether someone else comes out with their view.

I'm sorry Rajesh - I have 2002 and 2003 here (and both versions offer =
my =3D
2
suggested solutions) so I can't check how it looks in 2000. Perhaps =
you
could give more info on what the overall set up is - in relation to the
network, whether you are on Exchange Server etc. I've amended the =3D
thread
subject in the hope we can get some more specific advice from other =3D
users in
the group.
The other thing that occurs to me is that *sometimes* there are
country-specific settings in programs that aren't showing up in other =
=3D
parts
of the world. We might need Dian (in Linda's absence) to comment on =
=3D
this.
As a general observation if you don't want individuals to be able to =
=3D
alter
settings then they will need to be set via network admin. If you are =
=3D
happy
for users to be able to control things for themselves then they need to =
=3D
be
trained in what they are doing! LOL
Sorry I can't help further. Good luck.
Anne

Rajesh that's why the setting is there - precisely to stop them doing =
=3D
that!
At the risk of a cheeky response, I think your users need a bit of =3D
training
in how to use Outlook! There should be regular scheduled send/receives =
=3D
on
their settings - maybe this is set by your network admin? Every 5 =3D
minutes
isn't excessive if they are connected to a network, depending on the =
=3D
amount
of mail they tend to receive. =3D20
They should also have their mail sending options set up as follows:
Tools> Options> Mail Setup> Send/Receive - tick the checkbox to =
"perform =3D
a
send/receive on exiting".
That at least will stop them leaving emails in their outbox when =
exiting
Outlook.

Thanks Anne...I dont want the user to quit the OUTLOOK when there is a =
=3D
=3D3D
mail
in the outbox. The X button and the File --> Exit options to be =3D3D
disabled
when there is a mail in outbox.
