Thanks Linda

When this happens, it affects all the MS Office programs and nothing
else. Other programs work fine and never have this problem. It
doesn't seem to matter whether I have started up other programs or not.
If a Office program is the first thing I start after booting up, or if
i'm running other things when I start an Office program... that doesn't
seem to matter.

The first time this happened was months ago, so it will be hard to
remember newly installed software from that time... Norton Antivirus
did find something a while ago, perhaps this may be damage from that
episode...

This computer is at home on a "always on" DSL line. I run Norton
Antivirus in the background all the time, and scan for viruses
regularly. I use the Zone Alarm firewall. But I've been using those
things for years, and this problem doesn't date back that far.

At first this was a once in a while problem, but now it's more like
every other time I boot up. Often enough to become annoying. I'll try
deleting the temp files and re-installing MS Office on top of itself,
and see if that helps.

Thanks.
