Well...I'm not sure which MS Knowledge base article you found, but what
exactly doesn't work?

Then I found this one, which even says that the setup stops responding
before it gives the error, which is what you seem to be saying is =
happening
to you, so maybe this one is the one you need:

And you also said you searched Google "to no avail"....well I searched
google for "office error 2755" and came up with 10 PAGES of matches...so
it's possible what you need is in there...here it is:

And, if all else fails, why don't you do what the error message says and

I am trying to install MS Office on an XP Machine and the setup hangs =
